P.E.Co. H.S. FBLA Chapter Participates in State Competition

FBLA Chapter PECHSFARMVILLE – On April 12-15, 2018, Prince Edward County High School students attended the Virginia Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) State Leadership Conference. The students who advanced from Regionals competed in six events from Entrepreneurship to Introduction to Business.

Four students are now eligible to compete at the FBLA National Leadership Conference in Baltimore, Maryland over the summer. Students participated in many workshops on topics including Leadership Development, Dress for Success, and Goal Setting. Prince Edward FBLA also joined several schools in coordinating competitions.

The winners at the State Leadership Conference include:

Tiba Hamza 1st place in Introduction to FBLA

The team of Johnny Ray Holman, Sam Detrick, and Ben Edwards 5th place Entrepreneurship

The team of Chaney Sheehan, Mark Stanley, and Garrison Cheyne 4th place in Management Decision Making

FBLA-PBL is the largest business education student organization in the world. Nearly a quarter of a million high school and middle school students, college and university students, faculty, educators, administrators, and business professionals have chosen to be members of the premier business education association preparing students for careers in business.

The organization is recognized by the American Management Association, Association for Career and Technical Education, Career College Association, International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education, March of Dimes, National Association of Parliamentarians, National Association of Secondary School Principals, National Business Education Association, National Management Association, and the U.S. Department of Education.
