Arielle Jackson says that her boxer, Denali, was with her other dogs late last week as they were going for a walk with her down their driveway. The dogs got ahead of her and just out of site when she heard a vehicle door close. As she got to the area where the dogs had stopped she realized that Denali was not with the others and the other dogs were “going crazy.”

This all took place in the Oral Oaks area just outside of Victoria and the 8-month-old boxer puppy remained missing for several days as they continued to search, put up flyers and even go door to door to see if anyone had seen the missing pet.

The Southside Messenger spoke with Jackson on Sunday and got information on the missing dog in order to help with the search. Later that night, in an update, Jackson said that her dog had been found and had been taken by someone.

According to her, she was contacted by an individual who reportedly had purchased the dog from “some guys” who were just outside of Victoria toward the Nutbush area of the county.  The person had seen the attempts to find the dog and recognized that it belonged to Jackson. She then contacted her and arranged a meeting.

Jackson said that she was able to meet the person who purchased Denali and the boxer is back home with her owner, but Jackson also fears that this may not be an isolated event and warns pet owners in hopes that this will not happen to others.

She indicated that other people in the area have reported their dogs missing as well and she has a feeling that there could be a similar situation involved.
