NO Taxation Without Representation

Our Declaration of Independence includes 27 grievances against King George of England. The most interesting is King George was hindering immigration. The list of grievances includes:
He has made judges dependent on his will alone, for the tenure of their offices, and the amount and payment of their salaries.
He has erected a multitude of new offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harass our people, and eat out their substance.
He has kept among us, in times of peace, standing armies without the consent of our legislatures.
He has affected to render the military independent of and superior to the civil power.
He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his assent to their acts of pretended legislation:
-For quartering large bodies of armed troops among us:
-For protecting them, by a mock trial, from punishment for any murders which they should commit on the inhabitants of these states:
-For cutting off our trade with all parts of the world:
-For imposing taxes on us without our consent:
-For depriving us in many cases, of the benefits of trial by jury
He has forbidden his Governors to pass laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till his assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them.
Do any of these grievances sound current?
Before I continue, BOTH political parties are responsible for increasing our National Debt. Since 1940 EVERY President and EVERY Congress has increased our national debt.
No Taxation without representation was one of the mottos during the Revolution. Today our Government is shut down because our President and some of our representatives believe we can borrow ourselves out of debt. They are only asking for another trillion dollars. Our National Debt was roughly 1 billion dollars in 1940, 1 trillion dollars in 1980. It has increased to 13 trillion.
Think about it. In 1835 our ancestors paid off  the national debt. Then from 1935 to 1940  we borrowed 1 billion dollars. We now owe 13 thousand billion dollars. Today every American owes $52,882 in national debt, which amounts to $148,142 for every taxpayer.
This brings us to taxation without representation. We are expecting our children and grandchildren and even our unborn great grandchildren to pay taxes to pay OUR debts. That is not only morally wrong it is legally wrong.
Every generation should incur no more debt than it can pay.  We hold this great country in trust for future generations. We are obligated to pass it to them in better shape than when it was passed to us.
