NFL Tries to Steal “Who Dat?” From Stump County

Some group calling themselves the In Eff Ell just filed a claim in Florida that they own the phrase “Who Dat.”  Now here in Stump County we don’t watch feetball, mainly because we don’t have televisions.  We don’t play feetball here in Stump County for two reasons. The first is some of us have good manners.  If we have something and somebody else wants it, we will share.  The rest of us are just so darn independent that even if we were willing to share, when somebody tries to take something from us we will fight until we are flat on our backs.  Then when we get up we are going to have at it again.

We are ready to fight for “Who Dat?”  We been using “Who Dat” to see who is knocking at our doors and calling on our phones since we had doors and phones. Well, we still don’t have phones, but if we did we would answer them with “Who Dat?”

If somebody knocks on your door in Stump County you know it is someone you don’t know.  So you ask, “Who Dat?” If they knowed ya, they would’na knocked.  They woulda kicked the mud, dirt or snow offen their feet, picked up an armload of firewood or a bucket of water and come on in. Ifen they got to knock, they got to say who dey is and be invited in.

Anyway it goes, “Who Dat?” been in Stump County longer than the In Eff Ell has had feetball.  “Who Dat?” is even in one of the six books in the Stump County Library.  The book is called Penrod and Sam or Sam and Mawruss.  One of them hears something and says, “Who Dat?”  The other responds, “Who Dat?”  The first says, “Who dat say who dat?”  The second, “Who dat say who dat when I say who dat?”   That book has been around longer than the In Eff Ell.

Since those In Ef Ellers claimed “Who Dat?” a couple of days ago every man, woman and child in Stump County has asked “who dat?” at least once. We are looking forward to scrapping with them.

If there is justice, we will win and those In Eff Ellers will have to pay us every time they use “who dat?”  If we lose, we are all going to court and register something.  Little Big says he is going to register the word “a.”  If you want to use “a” you will have to pay LB.
