For 250 years, the small white buildings at 11188 County Line Road have served the community of Abilene in various capacities and with many different types of services. Abilene, formerly known as Shadowsburg in 1856, has seen many changes over the last two centuries. Shadowsburg was renamed Abilene at the request of the railroad around 1900. During World War II, three passenger trains per day came to the Abilene Junction and stopped in the bottom to the left of the stores.

Not only a convenience store, the Abilene Market offers many other services as well.  Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served daily and made to order exactly as you like it. A ham dinner special on Fridays and chili every Saturday will also be featured. Fresh eggs and produce from local farmers will be available this summer and cakes and pies can also be specifically made to order for any upcoming parties, events or celebrations.

A side business being run for the Abilene Market is Putt Putt 2 Go Golf. A Putt Putt 2 Go Golf Course can be rented and set up for you at your home or business for $125 per day for parties and special events. Also, if you call ahead of time, the Putt Putt 2 Go Golf Course can be set up at the Abilene Market to play for $3.00 per round.

Please join the Abilene community in welcoming, shopping and dining at the new Abilene Market. For more information, call Debbie or Nancy at (434) 223-3548 and be sure to check out their specials on Facebook.
