LUNENBURG – Lunenburg County was set to hold a local National Night Out event like others that take place across the country, but weather concerns postponed the event. The original date and time was Wednesday, August 7, from 5 to 7 p.m.
Heavy thunderstorms in the area had organizers making the change and hoping to move it to a different time. To their credit, the event has been rescheduled and will take place on Monday, September 16, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., in the Kenbridge Town Park.
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community.
