Muniz, Himes, Long, Thomas Plead Guilty in Charlotte Circuit Court

There were two indictments handed down in Charlotte County Circuit Court on Wednesday, October 9, 2013.

Donna Henderson Franklin was charged with the possession of schedule I and schedule II controlled substances.

John Wallace Hurt, Jr. was charged with two instances of eluding law enforcement officers.

The following judgments were made on Wednesday:

Matthew Muniz pled guilty to two counts of felony malicious wounding and one count of strangulation. He was sentenced to twenty years for each wounding charge and five years for the strangulation charge. All time was suspended except for four years five months.

William Himes pled guilty to one count of unlawful wounding, one count of sexual battery and one count of assault and battery. He was sentenced to five years on the wounding charge with all suspended but three years two months. The sexual battery charge netted him no time with all twelve months suspended. Likewise, for the assault and battery charge he received twelve months with all suspended.

Wayne Jessie Thomas pled guilty to two counts of possession with intent to sell hydrocodone. He was sentenced to ten years on each count with seven years three months suspended on one count and ten years suspended on the other.

T.J. Long pled guilty to arson. He will return to court on December 19, 2013 for sentencing.
