Mother of three Dies in Accidental Shooting

Tragedy struck when a 26-year-old mother of three died in an accidental shooting incident that occurred at her residence during the early morning hours of Sunday, August 16, just off Crafton’s Gate Hwy. (Rt. 47) in Drakes Branch.

Rescue units were dispatched to 170 Shore Lane, where they found the body of Karen T. Goode with a single gunshot wound to the upper chest area. Goode was pronounced dead at the scene. The oldest of children is thought to be four years old.

It was reported that Goode was handling a firearm, when the gun accidentally fired, resulting in the fatal wound. Currently, no arrests have been made in this case, but the investigation is ongo-ing in an effort to determine the exact manner of the shooting.
