Missing Youth Found in Crewe

On July 3, 2014 officers received a call in regards to an abandoned vehicle that led them to find a missing juvenile from Arizona. Officers located the juvenile inside a residence in the 100 block of Guy Ave. The 17-year- old male had been missing since March of this year. Officers transported the juvenile to the Richmond Airport where a social worker from Arizona took custody of the child to return him to Arizona.

Officers discovered the juvenile was missing after they ran his information through NCIC, the National Crime Information Center. NCIC is a computerized index of criminal justice information and serves law enforcement agencies across the United States. NCIC assists officers in locating things like fugitives, stolen property and missing people by notifying them of a “hit” when someone or something’s information is run through the dispatch center.
