Missing Kenbridge Child Found

KENBRIDGE – An alert on Sunday afternoon was issued by the Lunenburg County Sheriff’s Office for a missing child in the area between Kenbridge and South Hill. The child, who was identified as three-year-old IV Washington was found later that same day.

The alert noted that Washington had gone missing around 2:30 p.m. in the 10000 block of South Hill Road in Kenbridge. The Lunenburg County Sheriff’s Office noted that they had Search and Rescue on the scene and was actively searching for the child, but asked for anyone with information that may help to contact them.

The child was located after reportedly spending several hours in the woods. Lunenburg County Sheriff’s Office offered no further information on the search, but stated, “The child was found safe. We would like to thank the community for all the support.”
