Michael Darrell “Mike” Douglas, Sr. Obituary

 Michael Darrell “Mike” Douglas, Sr., of Saxe, Virginia passed away unexpectedly on November 27, 2017.  He was born March 13, 1950, to Bernard Jackson Douglas and Lucille Watts Douglas.  He was the owner/operator of Douglas Auto in Drakes Branch, Va. for over 35 years, race car driver, and UPS mechanic.  He not only served his customers as mechanic, but tow truck operator, parts vendor, welder, fabricator, community member, and friend.  He believed in the virtues of hard work and took great pride in being able to excel at difficult tasks.

He is survived by his son, Michael D. “Mickey” Douglas, Jr. of Keysville, Va.; his sister, Faye Rutledge and husband Warren of Red Oak, Va.; niece, Angela Stimpson and husband Sean of Red Oak, Va,; great-nephews, Justin Stimpson and Hunter Stimpson of Red Oak, Va.; and his most precious and loved Daschunds, Princess and Missy.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, December 1, 2017, in Providence Presbyterian Church, Nathalie, Va., with interment to follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, Va., on Thursday, November 30, 2017, from 6:30 till 8 p.m.  The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville is serving the family.
