Marian Wade Hamlett Obituary

Marian Wade Hamlett, age 90, of Drakes Branch, Virginia, passed away Monday, September 7, 2020. She was born on April 25, 1930, in Halifax County to George and Adeline Hazelwood Wade. She is survived by her devoted husband, Clarence Hamlett, Jr.  She is also survived by two daughters, Tammy Deppen of Drakes Branch and Kathy Schieber of Metro Atlanta, Georgia, and five grandchildren, Quinn Schieber and Indiana Schieber of Metro Atlanta, Georgia, and Michaela Deppen, Abigail Deppen, and Noel Deppen of Drakes Branch, Virginia.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Tucker Wade, Chester Wade, and Willie Wade and four sisters, Minnie Lloyd, Alean Seamster, Annie Newcomb, and Nettie Wade.

During her lifetime, she was an active member of Mt. Laurel United Methodist Church in Mt. Laurel, Virginia, Mt. Calvary United Methodist Church in Drakes Branch, Virginia, and Drakes Branch Baptist Church in Drakes Branch, Virginia.  She exemplified the Proverbs 31 woman.

She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.  The family wishes to thank Donna Thompson with Piedmont Senior Resources, Charlotte County Meals on Wheels, Centra Hospice, and their church family at Drakes Branch Baptist Church.  The family asks that you consider donations to Drakes Branch Volunteer Fire Department or Charlotte County Meals on Wheels.  The family hopes to have a memorial service in the future.
