obit Lucille Douglas PictureLucille Watts Douglas, age 86, of Saxe, Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at her home.  She is survived by a daughter, Faye Douglas Rutledge and husband, Warren of Red Oak, Va.; a son, Michael “Mike” Darrell Douglas, Sr. of Saxe, Va.; two grandchildren, Michael “Mickey” Darrell Douglas, Jr.  of Keysville, Va., Angela “Bunn” Rutledge Stimpson and husband, Sean, of Red Oak; two great-grandchildren, Justin Edward Stimpson and Hunter Jackson Stimpson; two sisters, Martha Toombs of Saxe, and Mary Chambers of South Boston, Va.; one brother, Harold Watts of Crewe, Va.; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis Mitchell and Kathleen Fears Watts; her husband, Bernard Jackson Douglas; two brothers, Carroll Watts and Charles Howard Watts; and one sister, Margaret Watts Blount.  She was a beautician for forty-five years before her retirement.

A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m., Friday, April 29, 2016, in Providence Presbyterian Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home on Thursday, April 28, 2016, from 7 to 8:30 p.m.  The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville is serving the family.
