Longwood Students Visit Wayland Residents

Longwood students visited Wayland Nursing & Rehabilitation Center on Saturday, January 20, 2018 as part of the MLK service day.  The MLK service day is an annual Service-Learning Center event that celebrates the life and teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.  Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. recognized the power of service to support communities and realize mutual goals.  Many college students from Longwood University came to Wayland to volunteer their time in honor of MLK. They were able to visit with our residents reminiscing about the past. Our residents tried to teach each student something new and would talk about how school and other activities where done many years ago, after visiting students where excited to join the residents with a few games of Bingo, a wonderful pastime great for all generations.
