Christmas concert1LUNENBURG – Last week, prior to the Winter Break for Lunenburg County Public Schools, some students from Kenbridge Elementary and Victoria Elementary were selected to participate in a joint Christmas Concert that took place at the Kenbridge Community Center.

LCPS Music Teacher and Director for the Christmas Concert stated, “This is my first year as a music teacher in the county and this is the first year in at least a decade that we’ve had a joint concert between the two schools. Our students have been rehearsing since October. They have learned the value of diligence, patience, and hard work while enjoying the music family we form together. I sincerely hope we will make this an annual event to bring our community together and foster confidence, hope, and self-esteem in our children.”

She continued, “This Christmas Concert brought 206 students together and a crowd of over 330 people. Our community showed up in full force last night to cheer on our little ones, to lift them up and praise their hard work. Our audience was the best we could ever ask for, being active and engaged; shouting for joy, clapping after every song, and cheering their ones on during dance numbers. The children were beaming with pride. In that place, which once housed Kenbridge High School students, and then Kenbridge Elementary students, students stood once again on that stage and it was as if the whole building smiled on them. The lights shone brightly on their little faces, yet dimmed in comparison to the joy that they held in their hearts.”
