Kick off the Lunar New Year with an entertaining evening for a great cause! Banned Books & Brews is a fundraiser for the inaugural Virginia Children’s Book Festival that will take place this October.

This Saturday night, for $35, YOU can come to Fuqua School Lower Commons in Farmville from 7 to 10 p.m. and enjoy brews from Devil’s Backbone and Blue Mountain Brewery, along with grub from the Fuqua kitchen. Marcus Pendergrass will be tickling the ivories for us, we’ll have short readings from banned books, Harry Potter Trivia for fans of the boy wizard, Chop Suey books on hand with their wares, with some ‘cutting of the rug’ to round out the evening…so be there or be square! And remember, in the Year of the Horse, as the Chinese say, ‘a good horse never turns its head to eat the grass behind.’ So look forward to all the fun to be had!
