On Saturday, January 10, 2015, ACCA Potentate, Ill Sir Boyd G. Griggs, hosted an appreciation party for the ACCA Nobility and their Ladies.  At that event Noble Robert W. Llewellyn of Jetersville, Va. was named Shriner of the Year for ACCA Shriners.  This award was presented to officially recognize and thank Robert for the countless hours of service and hard work he has contributed in support of ACCA Shrine and our twenty-two Shriners Hospitals for Children.

ACCA Shriners, based in Richmond, has a geographical jurisdiction that extends north to Strasburg/Fredericksburg, west to Waynesboro, south to Danville, east to Emporia and encompasses the central portion of the state, Richmond, Chesterfield, Henrico and Hanover.  Out of approximately 1,400 ACCA Shriners, Noble Robert W. Llewelyn of Jetersville was selected to be honored as “ACCA Shriner of the Year”.

Shriners Hospitals for Children, known as the “world’s greatest philanthropy,” is a health care system of twenty-two hospitals dedicated to improving the lives of children by providing pediatric specialty care, innovative research, and outstanding teaching programs for medical professionals.  Children, up to the age of 18, with orthopedic conditions, burns, spinal cord injuries, and cleft lip and palate (to name just a few of the medical issues treated at Shriners) are eligible for care and receive all services in a family-centered environment, regardless of the parents ability to pay.

Robert continues to be instrumental in helping to identify children who may benefit from medical treatment at Shriners through the Southside Shrine Club’s medical screening clinics.  Freely giving of his time, and being fully committed to our mission, Robert demonstrates each day what it means to be a Shriner.  We are very proud to be able to honor him as recipient of the ACCA Shriner of the Year for the year 2014.
