Lightning Teams Split with Nottoway, Varsity Group Remains Unbeaten

LUNENBURG – The Lunenburg Lightning teams continue their push toward a possible playoff berth and took on Nottoway this past weekend. The games were originally set for Saturday, but wet field conditions moved the contests to Sunday afternoon.
The two organizations had four hard fought games with each claiming two victories. The Lightning Flag team took a 14-12 win. Nottoway claimed victories in the Minors division game by a 16-0 score and in the JV Division game by a 34-7 final.
The Lunenburg Lightning Varsity team remained unbeaten and in first place with an impressive 27-0 victory over Nottoway.
The Lightning Flag, Minors and JV will play at South Hill this Saturday at 10:00am at Park View Middle School field.
