FARMVILLE – During last week’s Farmville Town Council meeting, members included a three percent increase for the library into the town’s proposed budget.
According to Rick Ewing, library director, the increase in funding amounts to $1,500 in additional funds for the library.
The 2016-2017 Town budget has $50,000 allocated for the library. The proposed increase would now give the library $51,500 for the 2017-2018 fiscal year.
“As indicated in the proposed budget, this is primarily based on increases in health insurance, supplies, and the cost of books, DVDs, and other material,” said Ewing.
A public hearing on the proposed 2017-2018 Town Budget will be held on June 14, 2017 at 6:30 p.m.
