Feeding Farmville Thanks Volunteers and Sponsors

During this season of celebration we give thanks for all the blessings that God has showered upon us.  God’s gift to us was so apparent upon the cross when He gave His only son to die for our sins so that we can be forgiven and live with Him forever.  But there are so many other gifts that surround us every day.  Moms and dads, husbands and wives, our children and coworkers, the jobs and health we enjoy, the sunshine that warms our faces and the rain that brings forth new growth, the food we eat and the clothes we wear.  All gifts from a loving God.

Having been surrounded and blessed we rejoice to share those gifts with our friends and neighbors.  Our vision is to help our neighbors grow closer to God through an experience with His unconditional love.  We do that by delivering a hot meal to anyone who asks on Thanksgiving day.  We do that by taking time to ask how they are doing.  We do that by giving of our time to show them that they are special.

But we saw God’s love in so many other ways as well.  In a world full of so much brokenness we saw God overcoming it with the love being shared by our volunteers.  When we were not sure we would have enough pies we saw God provide.  When we needed people to deliver meals we saw God provide.  Every time we needed something we saw God provide.  The brokenness in our community is bigger than any one of us but it is not bigger than our God.  We saw God working through all of you to pour out His love upon this community and bring healing to our land.

That is why we wanted to say thanks.  Thanks to God for pouring out His love on us day in and day out.  But thanks to all of you for being instruments in God’s hand to bring His healing to our community.  This year we packed 722 meals and delivered them to over 200 homes in our community.  We had 40 different organizations involved and over 300 volunteers planning, cooking, packing and delivering meals.  We hope you see the love of God in each and every face and organization and that you too give thanks!
