Law enforcement 2VICTORIA – Last week, during the annual “Law Enforcement Bicycle Ride to DC” event, riders made their way through Lunenburg County once again and stopped off at Timmy’s Grocery for a break and to rejuventate.

Cyclists traveled  500 miles as a tribute to fallen officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. The event starts in Charlotte, North Carolina with law enforcement officers joined along the trip by fellow officers and citizens from towns and cities on the route who ride with them to show support. The event came to completion as the group attended the Candlelight Vigil at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, DC on May 13th.

Timmy and Linda Clark have been long time supporters of the event and this year was no different. Despite having a prior work related engagement, Timmy made sure that he had everything set up and ready for the riders when they arrived around 10 a.m. Tuesday morning. He even arranged for a “stand in” during the event as former Victoria Police Chief Jay Dayton was there to help greet fellow officers and share stories before the group headed toward Washington, D.C.
