Lady Chargers take down Bluestone Barons

The Central Chargers Varsity Softball team got a district win last week as they got a strong pitching performance and defense to take a 6-1 victory over Bluestone.

Central would be held off the scoreboard in the first inning, but got two early runs in their second at bat. Hailey Bayne would get things started as she reached base. Brittany Tomlinson would draw a walk. Emma Hart would drive in a run with a single and TanJaneka White-Freeman would have a sacrifice to put the Lady Chargers up early.

Central would add another run in the third inning as Meri Dalton singled and later scored to give Central three runs and an early lead in the contest. The fifth inning would be huge for the Chargers as they plated three more runs. Dalton would get the rally started with a lead off double. Tomlinson would reach base and Dalton came around to score. Ashley Genova would clean the bases as she ripped a triple that brought in another run and she would later score on a White-Freeman single that gave the Lay Chargers a 6-1 lead.

Hailey Bayne would get the win on the mound for Central and pick up good defense behind in the contest as Central kept Bluestone off the board late and got the five run win.
