KVFD Holds Awards Banquet

On Saturday night, December 14, 2013 the Keysville Volunteer Fire Department annual awards banquet was attended by firefighters and community supporters. Scotty Jackson and Justin Wilmer were awarded Firefighter(s) of the Year by Chief Lynn Duffey. 5-year service awards were presented to Audrey Payne, Chris Duffey, Chris Jackson, Blake Toombs and Patricia Reamer. Tommy Goodrich received a 15-year award with Duane Bailey receiving a 20-year award. The competition team consisting of Scotty Jackson, Duane Bailey, Tommy Goodrich, Chris Jackson, Justin Wilmer, Jason Jackson, Chris Duffey, Matt Dunnaway, and Chris Miller was recognized. The Above and Beyond Award went to Scotty Jackson and Tommy Goodrich and special recognition to Patricia Reamer, Clark Woodson and Sharon Woodson. Citizens Awards were presented to Butch Shook of Keysville Hardware, Larry Shook of Larry’s Auto Parts, Frank Myers of Food Lion and Averett Jones of The Southside Messenger. The evening ended with the firefighters presenting a plaque to Chief Lynn Duffey for his leadership during the year.
