On Saturday, March 17th, the Friends of the Appomattox River conducted a Spring Waterways Cleanup which included parts of the Appomattox River System, Buffalo Creek, Briery Creek Reservoir, Sandy River Reservoir, Gross Creek, and the Wilck’s Lake area. Fifteen FAR members were assisted by seven Hampden-Sydney students. The group collected 25 bags of trash along with two bicycles, construction materials, an ironing board, an aluminum stool, cash, and a plastic bucket totaling approximately 700 pounds. The Town of Farmville provided trash containers and disposal.
