KFS Varsity Cross Country Girls Undefeated in the VCC

kenston-forest-cross-country-team kenston-forest-cross-country-undefeatedThe Kenston Forest Cross Country Team hosted the VCC Championship Meet on Thursday, October 27th.   Schools that competed were Blessed Sacrament, Brunswick Academy, Tidewater Academy, Amelia Academy, Southampton Academy, and Banner Christian School.   

The KFS Varsity Girls Team was undefeated this season, and won the VCC Championship for the second year.  The team worked hard this season and results were outstanding.  Berkley Rose lead the team with a personal record of 7:52 per mile; with Senior team members, Julie Jiao finishing 4th, and Caroline Cumbea setting a personal record of 8:55 per mile and finishing 5th.   The remaining team members’ results were:  Charlotte Walker – 6th, Haley Henshaw – 8th, Haley King – 11th, Emily Hawthorne – 16th, and Jamila Kent – 20th.  The JV Girls team consisted of two members, Chloe Smart and Lexi Smetana , first time members on the team and gained improvements with each meet.

The KFS Varsity Boys Team was young this year, with only one returning member.  The team members worked hard and finished strong at the VCC meeting and improved throughout the season.  Members of the team were:  Ryan Davis, Ethan Drury, Phenix Underwood, Tyler White, and Aiden DiRienzo.  The JV Boys team consisted of Jon Witty, Christian Drury, Jake Calhoun, Ethan Thomas, Peyton Vaught, and Daniel Henshaw.  This will be a team to watch in the upcoming year.

The team was supported by their parents and their Coaches –  Denny King, Donna King, Dane King, Emily Townsend and Ron Kent.
