BRUNSWICK – The KFS Cross Country traveled to Brunswick Academy yesterday for their first meet. The Girls Varsity Team placed first, with the majority of the girls placing in the top ten. The schools that competed for the girls were Blessed Sacrament Huguenot, Brunswick, Southampton and Banner Christian. The boys teams were Southampton, Amelia, Banner Christian, Blessed Sacrament Huguenot, Tidewater, and Brunswick.
Berkley Rose placed 2nd with a time of 25:35 and five KFS girls placed in the top ten of a field of twenty-four girls.
The highest KFS boy finisher, 14th out of 48, was Ethan Drury with a time of 21:50, his first year running cross country. Several other boys had strong races in a tough field. This year for the first time, KFS has a JV team had impressive finishing times. The KFS Cross Country team will host a meet at home Thursday, September 22 at 4:30.
