The Kenston Forest Kavaliers made the long road trip to Manassas pay dividends as they defeated the NOVA Centurions 35-3 and brought their football record to 4-3 for the season. The Kenston line dominated the game, opening opportunities for running backs as well as shutting down the Centurions’ offense. All five of the Kavalier linemen-Cole Hagaman, Tripp Jones, Thomas Hunter, Thomas Inge, and Will Kreis-had very good games offensively and defensively.

The game began with the Kavaliers kicking to NOVA. They held the Centurions to three and out, and then embarked on an eleven-play 75 -yard drive that resulted in a 2-yard TD run by JEB Buchanan. This set the tone of the game. The Kavs scored three times in the second period: a 3-yard TD run by Buchanan, a 6-yard TD run by Elijah Warner, and a 13-yard TD strike from Tyler Daniel to Paden Lawson. The score at the half stood at 28-0 in favor of Kenston. The Kavs’ defense held NOVA to one first down and less than 40 yards of offense in the first half.

In the third quarter, the final Kenston score came on a third and long play from the Centurion 35 yard line. Elijah Warner took a screen pass from Daniel and raced down the sideline for a 65-yard score. Zach Dunnavant was perfect with five extra point conversions.

For the game, the Kavaliers gained 162 yards rushing and 156 passing. JEB Buchanan led all ball carriers with 104 yards on 13 attempts with two TDs. Tyler Daniel completed 7 of 9 passes for 156 yards and two TDs. Elijah Warner had 57 yards rushing, 104 receiving, 2 TDs, a sack, 3 tackles for losses, and a blocked punt. Defensively, the Kavaliers intercepted four Centurion passes: Jackson Taylor (2), JEB Buchanan (1), and Sam Hodges (1). Tyler Daniel recorded 8 tackles to lead the team. On Friday, the Kavs play away at Rappahannock High School.
