Kenbridge Man Faces Multiple Charges

Kenbridge man faces several chargesVICTORIA – Victoria Police Department officers were out among the many local and out of town attendees at the National Day of the Cowboy event held in Victoria this past Saturday, July 23. The day went well and there were no major incidents, however there was an arrest made in the Victoria Railroad Park on Saturday afternoon as the festivities were moving toward the end.

VPD Officer M.H. Gatling and Senior Patrol Officer Daniel Medlin arrested 58-year-old Herbert Collins of Plank Road in Kenbridge following a report that Collins had threatened a female earlier.

The incident took place around 3:15 pm after the officers had gotten a complaint that a female in the area and Collins had gotten into a verbal altercation.

Collins was later located and observed at the Victoria Railroad Park where he appeared to be intoxicated. After being contacted by law enforcement, Collins allegedly was cursing and disorderly when officers attempted to speak with him.

He was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, public intoxication and obstruction of justice. He was transported to Piedmont Regional Jail and held on a secure bond.
