Kenbridge man escapes injury after collision with tree

KENBRIDGE – A Friday afternoon accident occurred after a Kenbridge man lose control of his sport utility vehicle and hit a tree, but escaped serious injury.

The accident took place along Route 607 (Pleasant Hill Lane) approximately one mile from the intersection with Afton Grove Road at 4:49 p.m. on March 18.

The driver was identified as 22-year-old Antonio Sandoval of Kenbridge. According to investigating State Police Trooper T. W. Reeves, Sandoval was driving a 2003 Ford Explorer when he ran off the road on the right side and hit an embankment. The SUV then traveled on, striking a tree before coming to a stop.

Kenbridge Fire Department and Kenbridge Emergency Squad responded to the accident, but Sandoval was not transported from the scene.

There were no other vehicles or passengers involved in the wreck. Sandoval was issued a failure to maintain proper control citation following the investigation.
