JV Chargers beat William Campbell on the road

The Central Chargers JV Baseball team took on William Campbell last week and came away with a big 7-3 victory in this non-district battle.

Central would get on the board first as Noah Dunbar and Austin Alphin both reached base in the top of the first. They would score on a Jackson Parsons’ double. John McGrath would also collect a hit and score Parsons to put Central up 3-0.

The Chargers would send Cary Parrish to the mound for the start and after a scoreless first inning, the Generals would get one run in the second inning.

The third inning would see the Chargers add three more runs to their totals as Micajah Paynter singled to start things off. Alphin and Parsons would then both double. Austin Hall also picked up a single in the inning and Central held a 6-1 lead.

The fourth, fifth and sixth innings would go quietly for both teams. Alphin would see time on the mound for Central as the game moved to the seventh inning.

In the final inning, Central would  add one more run as Alphin scored on a Parsons’ hit to give Central a 7-1 lead.

Austin Hall would come in to pitch late in the game for Central. William Campbell added two late runs as the Chargers went on to get the 7-3 win.
