James “Jim or Butch” Henry Bolick, Jr., left this world in the early morning hours of Wednesday, January 10, 2018. His heart just failed but family was there holding his hands and talking to him up until the last moment. He was born November 3, 1952, to Ellen Bowman Carroll and the late James H. Bolick. James was father to Crystal Hamby and husband, Matthew; and Angel Smith and husband, Brent; grandfather to Madeline Hamby, Ruth Ellen Hamby, and Tyler Triplett; brother of Johnny Ray Bolick and wife, Laura Nelson-Bolick, Eva Marie Edwards and husband, David; uncle to Walter Bol-ick, Nathaniel Edwards, and Kaiti Edwards. He is also survived by many close cousins. James was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Lou Aldridge. He was a father, a friend, a mechanic, a stargazer, and an avid fisherman. James loved science fiction, NASCAR, and the Redskins. He never met a stranger and had the most amazing smile and calm manner. RIP.
