I’ve Fallen… Ailing Driver Gets Stranded in Truck

 Last Saturday afternoon, the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call for a tractor-trailer that had been pulled over on the side of Farmville Hwy., not far from the intersection with Four Locust Hwy.

Upon arriving on scene, it was discovered that the driver, Donald Henderson of Roanoke, Va. needed medical attention and had fallen ill after he pulled his truck to the side of the road. Henderson had spent a 24-hour period in his truck unable to call for help.

The Charlotte County Rescue Squad was dispatched and Henderson was taken to Centra Southside Community Hospital, and then transferred to UVA. Henderson is currently in UVA hospital with a case of the flu.

The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Department, Rescue Squad and Fire Department were on scene to assist in this matter. Henderson is a driver for Shenandoah Recycling.
