KENBRIDGE – At the recent Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner in Lunenburg, the group recognized a local student with their Student of the Quarter Award.

hadleyThe winner of the award was Kenbridge Elementary Student Aidan Hadley who came up with an idea to help his fellow students and school.

Aidan said that the school only has one basketball goal to play on at recess and with so many kids all wanting to play, it became crowded and sometimes students would get knocked down.

Aidan came up with the idea of trying to hold a fundraiser to help purchase additional goals for the school. Aidan said he enlisted the help of some of the KES gifted students and together they came up with the idea of placing “Basket Banks”  around to help raise money. The idea would see $700 raised to help bring new goals to the school.

KES Principal Kathleen Rainey, Assistant Principal Lucy Hall and LCPS Superintendent Charles Berkley all were in attendance to help recognize Aidan along with Chamber members.
