Gloria Ann Boyd Puryear

Mrs. Gloria Ann Boyd Puryear, 58, of Chase City, VA entered eternal rest Friday, February 21, 2014 at her residence.

Mrs. Puryear was born in Mecklenburg County, VA February 16, 1956 to the late George Edward and Mozelle T. Boyd. She was a graduate of Bluestone High School, Skipwith, VA and was a member of Rocky Mount Baptist Church. Mrs. Puryear was a homemaker.

Cherishing her memories are her husband, Clarence E. Puryear; one daughter, Lucy N. Puryear; two sons; Terence Puryear and Gerald Puyear; adpopted daughter; Porsche Elam; one grandson, Ja’ Marion Wilson; three brothers, George Boyd, Sandy Boyd and Joe Boyd; two adopted sisters; Martha Tucker and Dorothy Townes; three special nieces, Ana L. Boyd, Lekesia Darden and Destiny Boyd; three sisters-in-law, Geraldine Henderson of Arlington, VA, Lelia M. Kelly of Richmond, VA and Lucy Williams of Cambridge, MA; devoted sister-in-law, Elnora Smithson of Chase City, VA; one brother in law; Major Puryear of Newport News, VA and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Gloria Ann Boyd Puryear will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Thursday, February 27, 2014 at Rocky Mount Baptist Church, Skipwith, VA with Rev. Patricia Liggon, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing for family and friends will be held on Wednesday from 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.

Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
