DINWIDDIE – The Fuqua School girls softball team traveled to Dinwiddie County on Monday to take on Southampton in the semi-final game and ultimately the championship game against Kenston Forest. Fuqua would beat Southampton, 9-2 and would walk away champions when they beat Kenston Forest, 17-2. The games were originally scheduled for Thursday and Friday of last week but were postponed due to weather conditions.
Fuqua’s Coach Mike Ford was named Coach of the Year, with players Regan Ware being named Player of the Year, Hannah-Gray Schmidt, Carmen Reynolds and Madelyn Bickford being named First Team All-State, and Virginia Haney and Lexi Marzloff being named Second Team All-State.
