Four Injured in Thursday Crash

The driver of a 2002 Ford Mustang GT and three other passengers sustained injuries on Thursday, July 17 in a single vehicle accident, after the driver lost control of the vehicle and it traveled approximately 369 ft. before coming to rest.

Around 10:20 p.m., the red Mustang GT was traveling on County Line Rd., about two miles north of Taro Rd. when the driver lost control, ran off the right side of the highway and struck a tree before overturning and coming to a complete stop.

The driver received critical injuries as a result of the crash and was transported to Lynchburg General by Med-Flight, as well as was a backseat passenger.  Two other passengers in the vehicle sustained minor injuries.

High speed is indicated to be a factor in the crash; however, the accident is still under investigation.  No charges have been filed at this time.  Trooper J.D. Gregory is the investigating officer in this incident.
