Four Indicted By Charlotte County Grandy Jury: Firearms Thefts Continue

John Paul Kirkman, 46, of Phenix, Va. was indicted on February 4, 2015. According to a press release, Kirkman is currently being held in the Charlotte County Jail with no bond on 11 counts of breaking and entering with the intent to commit larceny, four counts of felony larceny, five counts of larceny of firearms, five counts of transporting a firearm after being convicted of a felony and two counts of misdemeanor larceny.

Rachel Kanzer, 35, of Lynchburg, Va. was indicted on February 4, 2015 following eight counts of breaking and entering with the intent to commit larceny, four counts of felony larceny and five counts of larceny of firearms.  According to a press release, Kanzer has been released on a $1,000 bond.

Theresa Rappleyea, 40, of Phenix, Va. was indicted on February 4, 2015 following five counts of breaking and entering with the intent to commit larceny, three counts of felony larceny, and three counts of larceny of firearms.  According to a press release, Rappleyea has been released on a $1,000 bond.

Joshua Grover, 45, of Phenix, Va. was indicted on February 4, 2015.  Grover was indicted on 13 counts of breaking and entering with the intent to commit larceny, six counts of felony larceny, six counts of larceny of firearms and two counts of misdemeanor larceny.  According to a press release, Grover has been released on a $5,000 bond.

In a separate incident, a breaking and entering occurred between the dates of January 1 and February 3, 2015 at a residence located on Towler Rd. in Keysville, Va.  According to a press release, missing items included several rifles, shotguns, handguns, medication, a lap-top computer and money. A $500 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction.  Additionally, numerous rifles and shotguns have been recovered by the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Department, which are believed to have been stolen.  The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Department is asking individuals within the areas of Appomattox, Campbell County, Red House and Prince Edward who have had a firearm stolen since July 1, 2013 and June 18, 2014, with a filed police report, to contact an investigator with the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office at 434-542-5141.
