CHARLOTTE COURT HOUSE – On Friday, March 10th the Charlotte County Extension Office hosted the 4-H Spring Festival. All the students from Charlotte County Public Schools were invited to participate. The event lasted from 12:30-5:30p.m. and was a huge hit to everyone that participated.

The festivities began in the Extension Office front yard where the children had a large variety of games to play ranging from Smash-a-Shamrock to Rainbow Run. Each game win paid gold coins that could later be exchanged for fabulous prizes at the Leprechaun’s Loot Store. The event continued inside where everyone enjoyed a snack of popcorn and drink while watching “Hoodwinked,” an all time favorite movie of many of the festival participants. No one left the festivities hungry because everyone enjoyed a meal of hot dogs, drinks and delicious cupcakes before it ended. When the festival was over, everyone went home with a full tummy, outstanding prizes and best of all, a lifetime of fond memories.

Extension Agent Bob Jones could not express enough gratitude for the Extension Office staff and all of the loyal volunteers that helped to make this event such a huge success. In addition, Mr. Jones and staff wanted everyone to know that without the continued contributions from Gemini,Inc. and Subway, it would be much more difficult to provide this type of fun, safe source of entertainment for the youth in our community.
