Randolph-Henry H.S. Athletic Director, Baseball Coaches, Alumni Join to Raise Funds for Bankston Field Renovations

CHARLOTTE COURT HOUSE – The Randolph-Henry High School baseball alumni received letters recently from the high school’s Athletic Director, who is also a R-HHS baseball alumni, Chris Holt, asking for their support of a renovation project for the infield at Bankston Field.

The need for an infield renovation was identified by Coach Bankston, Coach Allen and Holt. In his letter, Holt thanked the alumni for the integral part they played in helping create such a tradition of excellence and asked for their assistance to help keep that spirit alive.

“Bankston Field has seen a tremendous amount of play and traffic over many, many years,” said Holt. “The time has come to invest the time, energy and resources to bring it back to the pristine safe condition needed for our players.”

Time (30 years) has taken a toll on the infield and it has become less than the pristine condition the players and opponents deserve. The detailed particulars of this renovation will require professional services to be utilized and the cost of the renovation project extends beyond the parameters of the normal operating budget.

“Our fundraising efforts are gaining momentum daily. We have a large number of loyal baseball alumni that draw daily from their experiences on Bankston Field. That really makes an impactful difference when they are called upon to assist in such a needed and worthwhile renovation,” continued Holt. “This could be just the beginning.”

Although the letters sent out were a plea to the school’s baseball alumni, donations are appreciated from anyone wishing to help restore the infield back to a quality finished product for the team.
