FARMVILLE – During last week’s Farmville Town Council meeting, Town Manger Gerald Spates informed council that Farmville’s two newest hotels are now beginning construction. The Tru Hotel by Hilton is being built on Perry Drive near Walmart and the Holiday Inn Express is being constructed on Sunchase Blvd. adjacent to The Hampton Inn.

In other business, the town council voted to approve new parking signs in the Green Front and Charley’s Waterfront Cafe parking lot to designate the area for customer parking only.

According to Spates the parking lot is currently being used for those enjoying the High Bridge Trail as well as Longwood students who park and walk to classes.

By designating the parking lot for customers, the council hopes that patrons of the nearby businesses will not have parking issues.
