FARMVILLE – The Farmville Police Department is still seeking information concerning several incidents of counterfeit money being used at Walmart.

According to Lt. William Hogan, the police department is seeking information on two separate incidents of individuals passing counterfeit bills.  On November 28, 2015, Farmville Police were notified by Walmart, located at 1800 Peery Drive, that a white female subject, with short blonde hair, had passed a large number of counterfeit $50 bills. The subject was accompanied by a black female driving a white sedan. On September 15, 2015, a black male subject made a large purchase from Walmart, using multiple counterfeit $20 bills. He left the location in a silver two-door coupe.  Photos of the alleged suspects were captured on Walmart’s security cameras.

“We do not have a significant update on the counterfeit bills case at this time, but we are working with other jurisdictions that have had similar occurrences to see if there is any connection,” said Lt. Hogan.

“These incidents are indicative of a growing problem throughout the Commonwealth and the investigation has revealed that all three of these individuals may be linked to similar cases in multiple jurisdictions throughout Central and Southside Virginia.”

Anyone with information regarding this crime is urged to contact Detective Sammy Entrekin, of the Farmville Police Department, at (434) 392-3332 or (434) 392-9259.
