Farmville Fire Quickly Contained

Four fire departments responded to a fire on Industrial Park Road in Farmville Wednesday afternoon shortly after 2 p.m.

The fire apparently involved an industrial paper shredder utilized in Steps secure document destruction facility.

The fire was contained to the shredder, and did not spread to the building.
At press time there were no injuries reported but firefighters were still on the scene. Estimates of damage were also unavailable.

Personnel from Farmville, Hampden – Sydney, Rice and Prospect Volunteer Fire Departments responded to the scene along with the Prince Edward Volunteer Rescue Squad.
