“ I wanted to share this wonderful news: Southside Virginia is embracing international flavor with 2 hosts families so far and that a local resident, Sherry Robleto is CIEE’s newest volunteer helping to spread the word on how to increase globalizing your community” said CIEE volunteer Becky Bell.

exchangestudentsThe Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE) is a non-profit organization that provides over 1400 high school exchange students the opportunity to live and study in over 55 countries each year for one or two semesters. This year, Randolph-Henry Senior High will have the pleasure of welcoming two host students this fall. Kiara Robleto, who attends Randolph-Henry, and her family will be hosting Katharina from Germany.

Kiara is excited about having a sister come fall and her mother Sherry Robleto is so excited that she has decided to join the CIEE program as a volunteer. According to Bell, “these young ambassadors have been screened academically and socially. They provide their spending money and health insurance and will participate in school, family and volunteering.  Our families consist of single parents, single adults, and families with small and/or teenage children, empty nesters. A loving and safe environment is needed.”

Since the late 1940’s, CIEE has been dedicated to providing education experiences that can change the lives of the participants and those they come in contact with.
