LUNENBURG – Lunenburg County Chief Animal Control Officer Ray Elliott is continuing his Thanksgiving tradition of raising money for the Southside SPCA spay and neuter programs.

Officer Elliott saw a problem and wanted to make a difference and stop the pet overpopulation in Lunenburg County so he began this event. The funds raised provide free spay/neutering to county residents and to the dogs and cats in his shelter awaiting adoption or transfer to a rescue. His efforts have been highly successful and the euthanasia rate continues to drop!

Ray will enter a dog run at the Lunenburg County Animal Control location at 6 a.m. on Thursday, November 25 and will stay there until 6 p.m.

To make a donation you can address checks to Southside SPCA or mail to:

Ray Elliott, 797 Starlight Lane, Kenbridge, VA 23944. You can also bring checks directly to Ray on Thanksgiving Day or visit www.southsidespca.org.
