As mayor, Eggleston will focus on key components to “keep Farmville great”. He will focus on fiscal responsibility, strengthening the Farmville Police Department, improving the relationship between the town and surrounding counties, the continued revitalization of downtown Farmville, improving the relationship between Longwood University, Hampden-Sydney College and the town, and accountability to the citizens and businesses of Farmville.

Eggleston, who has lived in Farmville his whole life and also served as a member of the Farmville Town Council, said he fully understands the duties and responsibilities that come with being elected mayor. He vows to “work with the town manager, businesses, Democrats, Republicans and anyone else to accomplish the goals set by the administration.”

A businessman of more than 30 years, Eggleston said he understands the economic needs of Farmville. He understands that jobs are important to this town and will inform prospective businesses and industry about the assets of the Farmville area in order to bring more businesses to the area and create additional jobs.

Both the Eggleston and his campaign said they believe there is an importance for all individuals to be informed as to the workings of town government, and that the town government should be as open and as transparent as possible. Eggleston and the campaign think that the town should be “open for you.”

Eggleston said he looks forward to speaking to each and every segment of the Farmville community on how to achieve “One Farmville”.
