High Speed Motorcycle Chase Ends in Crash in Keysville

The town of Keysville was the ending site of a high-speed motorcycle chase on Friday, July 19 when Virginia State Trooper J.D. Gregory clocked a 2003 Kawasaki ZX7 running 107 MPH in a 60 miles per hour zone around 8:20 p.m.
The chase began just east of Crafton’s Gate Highway and pursuit was continued east on King’s Highway into the town of Keysville, where the motorcycle exited off of King’s Highway onto Rt. 40, then proceeded to King St.
It was reported that the motorcycle was running at speeds in excess of 100 MPH through town with Trooper Gregory in hot pursuit, when it crashed on King St. near the intersection with Railroad Ave. by striking a guardrail.
The driver of the motorcycle was Warren B. Hilliard, 33, of Henderson, N.C. Hilliard was transported to Centra Southside by Charlotte County Rescue Personnel and later flown to VCU Medical Center by medical helicopter.
Hilliard was charged with eluding police, reckless driving and failure to stop at a stop sign.
