Eagles Use Big First Half To Beat Cumberland

PE Kevon BraxtonThe Prince Edward Eagles recently took on Cumberland in a rivalry game and the Eagles got the best of this matchup with a balanced attack that led them to the 70-48 victory.

PE Montel PhillipsPrince Edward started the game strong behind the inside duo of Kevon Braxton and Montel Phillips. The two big men helped the Eagles get out to a 15-6 lead in the first quarter.

Zarius Jones would add the trifecta to the PE attack in the second quarter and the Eagles surged ahead by a 35-15 lead at the half.

Cumberland would respond in the third quarter and continue to battle, but the Eagles lead was already enough to help seal the victory and they would go on to claim the 70-48 win.

Braxton led the Eagles in scoring with 18 points while Jones pitched in 14 points from his guard spot. Phillips would have big night as well with 12 points and 8 rebounds.
