eagles-jvFARMVILLE – The Prince Edward Eagles JV football team narrowly missed an upset win over the undefeated Goochland Bulldogs this past Monday night. The make up game from several weeks back featured two of the top three teams in the district with the Bulldogs hanging on for a 34-28 victory over Prince Edward.

Goochland got on the board in the first quarter to jump ahead 7-0, but a Rahme Marshall 90 yard touchdown run quickly cut into that lead and pulled the Eagles to within one point at 7-6.

Marshall was at it again on the next possession when he raced in from 80 yards away to give Prince Edward a 14-7 lead.

Goochland responded with a touchdown, but missed the extra point and PE had a 14-13 lead at the end of the first quarter. The second quarter would be all Goochland as they score another touchdown and took a 21-14 lead to the half.

The Bulldogs kept their momentum going early in the second half with another touchdown, but PE responded and cut the lead to 28-20 on a Ty Foster one yard TD run. Goochland added another fourth quarter TD to jump ahead 34-20, but a Jarrel Robinson 10 yard run pulled PE to within one score at 34-28. The Eagles had the ball late with a chance to tie or take the lead, but the Goochland defense held up and helped them get the win.
