Drug Investigation Nets 12 Arrests

Drug Investigation PE woman Drug Investigation PE manAPPOMATTOX – A drug related investigation in Appomattox County has led to charges against 14 people connected to the the distribution of narcotics and prescription drugs.

Among the fourteen people named in the charges, three are from the counties of Charlotte and Prince Edward.

Charlotte County resident Kristen Baker Layne, 26, has been charged with one count of distributing oxycodone and one count of assisting individuals in unlawfully procuring illegal prescription drugs.

Two Prince Edward residents were also charged including Robert Michael Monfette. The  33-year-old has been charged with four counts of conspiracy to distribute a Schedule I or II drug, three counts of distributing methadone, one count of distributing oxycodone, four counts of distributing a Schedule I or II drug within 1000 feet of a school zone, four counts of assisting individuals in unlawfully procuring illegal prescription drugs, and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

The second Prince Edward resident charged and arrested is Pam Jean Labuda. The 53-year-old woman was charged with two counts of distributing methadone, one count of distributing oxycodone, three counts of distributing a Schedule I or II drug within 1000 feet of a school zone, and three counts of assisting individuals in unlawfully procuring illegal prescription drugs.

Others charged during the investigation are Kaleel Shakur AKA Gaylord Fleshman, 44, of Appomattox, Debra Ann Moore, 59, of Appomattox, Mackenzie Marie Criswell, 30, of Lynchburg, Ester Denise Morton, 49, of Appomattox, Kaihree Austin Watts, 25, John Sherman Rowland III, 42, of Lynchburg, Samantha Renay Pollard, 38, of Appomattox, Dorothy Ann Crist, 39, of Appomattox, Kevin Russell Ensley, 37, of Appomattox, Tylor Austin Angstadt, 21, of Appomattox County and Andre Alexander Bolden,  29.

The investigation into narcotics and prescription drug distribution has been going on for nearly a year.
