Driving Under the Influence Causes Crash

DRAKES BRANCH – According to reports from the Virginia State Police, Rodney Spivey of Drakes Branch was involved in a single vehicle crash at approximately 6:10 p.m. on Tuesday, October 13 on Highway 360, a half-mile east of Highway 622. Reports indicate that Spivey, 56, ran off the right side of the roadway and overturned. There were no injuries reported. The 1996 Lincoln Town Car sustained $3,000 in damages and Spivey was charged with DUI. The Lincoln had no license plates and an expired inspection. Trooper J.D. Gregory responded to the accident.
